Romance on the Rocks authors were in the house!
Yesterday was the first time I participated in the Washington Romance Writers (WRW) Readers & Bloggers Luncheon. Held every year in the DC suburbs, the luncheon is a chance for readers, fans, and bloggers to meet romance authors—favorite authors and new authors.
I had a fabulous time. Not only did I see my favorite authors, but I had a chance to meet new readers.
It’s fun to hear their stories like the ex-prison guard who oversaw Timothy McVeigh. Readers have awesome stories and live more exciting lives than I do. (I live through my characters—LOL!)
I enjoyed giving away special swag to thank them for their support. After all, I love to write. I get twitchy if I’m not writing. But what is even better is when I can touch a reader with my story and inspire them or give them a good laugh or help them escape the insanity of the real world for the fun insanity of my UltraSecurity characters.
Romance on the Rocks gave away a picnic basket filled with books, wine, and swag. Plus, other authors and groups gifted wonderful door prizes. No one leaves empty handed.
If you’re a romance reader or blogger, this is the place to be with your people. Check the WRW website for next year’s event.
Big thanks to the readers and bloggers at my table along with author Alix Rickloff. We had a fabulous time!
And I’m waiting for an invitation to a dungeon of kink tour … my table mates know what I mean. 😉
Sounds like you had some interesting conversations at your table. 🙂 I’ve been to the luncheon twice and loved it. Next year, I’ll finally sponsor a table. 🙂 Your swag bags looked awesome.
