A few weeks ago, my family and I traveled home to Illinois for my grandma’s funeral. Grandma had ten kids and twenty-something grandchildren, and even more great-grandchildren. Family alone topped one hundred attendees at her funeral. And I couldn’t help thinking that we were burying a woman who had been a hero in her own quiet, unassuming way.
Grandma was one smart lady. After raising ten kids, she had a bit of wisdom about a thing or two. She had a great laugh, and I suspect I never knew the full depth of the fun-loving side of her personality. But I do know she was pretty awesome.
Especially when it came to dating.
See, my grandma was seriously dating another man when my first grandpa showed up to take her to Easter Mass. Family lore varies based on who you ask about whether Grandma was actually engaged that Easter, but everyone agrees on one part of the story – her boyfriend/fiancee showed up to take her to Easter Mass too.
And do you know what my grandma did?
She made both men take her to Easter Mass, and then she married my grandpa instead.
Now tell me, who doesn’t love a heroine who will take two men to church in the name of finding true love? 🙂

Will Truitt is better known as country music superstar Billy Brenton, and he’s on top of the world. At least, he should be. But the music isn’t talking to him anymore, and he’s pretty sure it has something to do with his last album and a woman who once broke his heart.
Lindsey Castellano is the best (erm, only) divorce lawyer from Bliss, Illinois, the self-proclaimed Most Married-est Town on Earth. She also has a secret gift for matchmaking, and after living with that curse since puberty, she knows more than just who shouldn’t marry whom. She knows that true love isn’t her destiny, and she knows how badly it hurts when she falls in love anyway.
When these two reunite at a wedding in the Bridal Capitol of the Midwest, though, not even fate can predict what might happen next!
Happy reading, ya’ll! 🙂
